Abu Dhabi's offer landscape splits neatly into four: set menus, happy hours, brunches and ladies nights. They are not equally good value, and the gap is wider than most people assume.

Set menus tend to be the honest ones — a fixed price against a known à la carte total. Happy hours vary enormously depending on what is actually included. Brunches are the hardest to compare, because the sticker price hides how much is optional.
