   In its current form it dates back to 1864, making it the oldest operational café in Estonia. The interior of the first floor has remained practically unchanged for more than 100 years. You can enjoy in this historical café or buy to take with you fresh pastries and delicious handmade candies—all of which are made on site and of natural raw material. There is also a marzipan room on the premises of the café, where one can learn about marzipan and the history of the café via audioguide, visit the exhibition of marzipan figures, and observe the process of marzipan painting. This spot works best for those who want pastries and tea without the tourist weight of Maiasmokk, or who are visiting in warmer months when the terrace opens.

   For oolong, Japanese matcha, sencha, herbal teas, and many more: this is the best place in Tallinn, Estonia. The rates were very reasonable (not too expensive). It's a small shop but for purchasing tea or for sitting down with 2 or 3 people, it is the best. This suits the tea enthusiast more than the cake-focused afternoon, but the shop's personality and knowledge make it worth a stop.

   Chocolats de Pierre is an institution. This is the place where the service can sometimes be a bit icy, and there is no table serving like in many other places in Tallinn. Nevertheless it offers old jazz, delicious pastries, soft armchairs and cozy table groups. This works for the afternoon because the atmosphere and chocolate-forward pastries justify lingering despite the austere service style—and this austerity is part of its appeal.
