How to Get from Tallinn Airport to Tallinn City Centre

Five minutes to the tram, fifteen minutes downtown. Compare T2 and T4 lines, bus 2, Bolt, and taxis to find your fastest exit.

   Tram T2 or T4 to Viru (Old Town)

   Airport terminal · Direct to city centre · €2 · 05:30–23:00, every 8–12 minutes

   Trams T2 and T4 run to Tallinn Airport, with the stop right by the terminal about a hundred metres from the terminal door. The city centre is about 20 minutes away by tram (T4 via Viru). A €2 one-hour ticket can be purchased with a contactless bank card at any validator on board or from the ticket machine at the airport. Tap the front-door validator with a contactless bank card or phone and you automatically get a €2 one-hour ticket. No luggage space to speak of, but if you travel light and arrive between early morning and 11 p.m., this is fastest and cheapest.

   Bus 2 to city centre

   Airport terminal · Various stops to centre · €2 · 06:00–23:15, roughly every 20 minutes

   Bus no. 2 runs to the city centre every 15 to 20 minutes and the journey takes around 20 minutes and costs 2€ for a single trip. The airport's bus stop is at 'Lennujaam', in front of Tallinn's terminal — simply follow the signs leading you down the escalator at the arrivals hall. The buses operate daily from approximately 6:00 a.m. to 23:15. Bus 2 makes more stops than the tram and suits those heading to neighbourhoods off the T4 line. Pay the same way: tap a contactless card at the validator.

   Price estimate: €5–8 to the Old Town as of 2026. The price shown in the app at booking is the price you pay — no surprises. A Bolt directly from the airport takes roughly 15 minutes. The Bolt pickup area is clearly signposted (separate from the taxi rank). Open the app, enter your destination, and confirm the booking. The app shows your driver's name, photo, car model, and registration plate. Match these before getting in. Bolt operates 24 hours. Tram 4 does not run late at night. For late-night or very early arrivals, Bolt is the solution.

   A typical taxi fare from Tallinn Airport to the city centre is €10.00 – €15.00. On average, you can expect to pay a base fare of €1.90 and a price per km of around €0.40 when taking a taxi from Tallinn Airport. For example, the 4 km ride from Tallinn Airport to the city center of Tallinn will cost around €10. The taxi stand is located outside, in front of the arrivals hall. Taxi fares are not regulated by law in Estonia. Confirm the meter is running or agree a price with the driver before you set off. Use the official rank; avoid touts inside the terminal.
