Wake up hungry: London's best breakfasts are waiting

The morning meal in London is no longer just bacon and eggs—though that's still excellent here. The city's breakfast culture has expanded to encompass Middle Eastern shakshuka, Australian ricotta hotcakes, Indian spiced eggs served until late morning, and Parisian croissants fresh from bakery ovens. This list spans early-opening venues, specialist bakeries, health-conscious options, and a few upmarket splurges, ordered by how easy you'll find a table: walk-ins first, then places where booking ahead eliminates the queue, then destination meals worth planning around. Some open at seven. Others won't let you in until lunch. All of them take breakfast seriously.
