This guide moves you through the neighbourhood in the way most visitors actually experience it: morning to afternoon exploring the attractions and waterfront, evening for the free light shows, then into dinner and drinks. The Waterfront Promenade Loop

The promenade stretches 3.5 kilometers, offering panoramic views of iconic landmarks such as the Singapore Flyer, ArtScience Museum, and the Marina Bay Sands complex itself. Start here at dawn if you want the water still and golden; finish at dusk when the towers light up like a promise. The waterfront is well maintained, spacious, with many photo spots, and nearby are the main attractions, shopping malls, restaurants and observation points. Walk from Marina Bay Sands north toward the Merlion, or loop back via the Helix Bridge if you want the full hour.
Gardens by the Bay: Free Exploration

The outdoor gardens are free, including Supertree Grove, World of Plants, Dragonfly & Kingfisher Lakes, and Bay East Garden. You don't need a ticket to walk underneath the Supertrees or explore the landscaped grounds. The Supertree structures light up like something out of your favourite sci-fi movie. The light show itself is free. The Garden Rhapsody light show is free and runs nightly at 7:45 PM and 8:45 PM.
Mid-Autumn Festival at Gardens by the Bay (through September)

The Mid-Autumn Festival runs through 27 September 2026, with the Golden Garden, Supertree Grove, and Bayfront Plaza coming alive at night with eight vibrant, neon-lit lantern installations inspired by the Singaporean cartoon character Fenbao. The Supertree Grove marketplace features family-friendly games, carnival rides, and rows of street food. Plan for early evening to grab the night light show.

Satay by the Bay will close from 1 October 2026 to make way for a refreshed waterfront dining experience as part of the Wetlands by the Bay development. If visiting in September, it remains the cheapest waterfront option in the bay, with open-air seating looking directly at the Supertrees. Go at lunchtime if the afternoon heat troubles you; the shade from the older structures helps.
CÉ LA VI: Rooftop Drinks

Perched on the 57th floor of Marina Bay Sands, CÉ LA VI takes modern Asian flavours and electrifying entertainment to the highest level.
