Best Vegetarian and Vegan Restaurants in Singapore

Plant-based dining in Singapore isn't about compromise. From Michelin-recognized Peranakan at Whole Earth to plant-based burgers that convert carnivores, the city's vegan and vegetarian scene speaks for itself.
Singapore's vegetarian and vegan restaurants have quietly outgrown the temple-food stereotype. What exists now spans Bib-Gourmand-recognised Peranakan vegetarian (Whole Earth), creative fine-dining vegan (Genesis), homegrown vegan fast-food (VeganBurg, NomVNom), and a long tail of credible mid-tier restaurants. This guide separates truly vegan spots from vegetarian restaurants where dairy and eggs appear, then identifies the casual chains that make eating plant-based feel effortless whether or not you avoid animal products entirely.
The entries below are ordered by how you'd discover them: start with the fine-dining moment that changes minds, move through daily-driver vegetarian restaurants with genuine depth, then land on the casual chains where vegan food stops being a choice and becomes the obvious order. Areas like Little India and Chinatown are particularly rich in meat-free options, making it easy for tourists to enjoy flavourful, hygienic, and culturally diverse vegetarian meals throughout their stay.
Whole Earth
76 Peck Seah Street, Tanjong Pagar · Peranakan-Thai vegetarian · Tue-Sun 11:30am–3pm, 5:30pm–10pm
Established in 2003, Whole Earth is Singapore's first and only Peranakan-Thai plant-based restaurant. Their meatless offerings have earned them the Michelin Bib Gourmand, which they have held every year since 2016. Order Thai Sweet and Sour Delight ($19++), featuring deep-fried soya-based "meat" and pineapples, stir-fried in a refreshing tangy sauce, with the "meat" having a crisp exterior and chewy texture that's similar to pork. The room is elegant without pretension; most of the menu is vegan. This is the place to bring a meat-loving friend who thinks vegetarian food is boring.
190 Middle Road, Fortune Centre #01-13/14 · Japanese vegetarian · -
stockHerbivore is Singapore's first fully Japanese vegetarian restaurant, where you can find a variety of Japanese-inspired food, including mock salmon sashimi, unagi maki and katsu curry. Customers love the attentive staff, who remember regular customers and accommodate specific dietary preferences, such as vegan options or requests to exclude certain ingredients. The space is spacious; the menu is long. Order the katsu curry if you want proof that plant-based cooking can match the textural precision of the original.
601 MacPherson Road, Grantral Mall Tai Seng · Indonesian vegetarian · -
stockWarung Ijo offers authentic Indonesian vegetarian cuisine, perfect for tourists wanting regional flavours beyond the usual fare. Dishes are rich in spices, coconut, and traditional recipes, all prepared without meat. Their vegan nasi lemak and nasi padang sets recreate familiar flavours using plant-based ingredients, without losing the richness or spice that Indonesian food is known for. Order both: the nasi lemak hits harder than any mock-meat dish, the nasi padang proves that Indonesian home cooking doesn't need meat to be substantial.
nomVnom
6 Eu Tong Sen Street #03-105/106/107, Clarke Quay · Plant-based burgers · -
At nomVnom, handmade buns are paired with plant-based burger patties made from mushroom, marinated tempeh, konjac, OmniMeat and more. The Temptation Satay Burger features a flavorful mushroom-based patty topped with rich satay sauce and crunchy peanuts. Prices tend to be on the higher side relative to portion size or comparable eateries in Singapore, but the burgers are genuinely inventive—the satay version tastes like nothing you'd get from a conventional chain.
Gokul Raas Vegetarian Restaurant
Little India · North and South Indian vegetarian · -
Gokul is one of the most versatile vegetarian restaurants in Singapore. The menu is huge — covering North Indian, South Indian, and even local Singaporean dishes. Mock meats are used extensively, and often convincingly, especially in curries and stir-fries. It's the kind of place where groups work well, because everyone can order something different. Portions are generous, prices are reasonable, and the flavours are satisfying. Come with people: you'll want to share dosa, thali, mock chicken curries.
Yi Xin Vegetarian
Chinatown · Chinese vegetarian · -
Located in Chinatown, Yi Xin Vegetarian has some of the best vegan food in Singapore. They have an affordable economy rice options where you can choose ready-made-items, but the made-to-order food is the best. Order their curry laksa, satay, olive fried rice and curry chicken noodle. Their curry laksa is one of the best laksas you'll have. The economy rice setup means you can eat well for under S$10; the ordering-to-wok-to-table speed lets you eat fast.

If you're looking for some of the tastiest vegan food in Singapore, you'll find it at this vegan restaurant in Joo Chiat. We went to Vegan Bliss for lunch but they're also open for dinner and pride themselves on giving reasonably-priced, great-quality vegan food. Favourites include the hokkien mee, pineapple-fried rice and their vegan dim-sum menu. Vegan Bliss also do a lunch value set – $8.50 for one of their set meals and a drink, making it one of the best-priced vegan restaurants in Singapore too.

Annalakshmi
6A Shenton Way #01-03 · Indian vegetarian buffet · Pay-what-you-wish lunch
Annalakshmi is a unique Indian vegetarian buffet offering all-you-can-eat for whatever you wish to pay. The lunch buffet might include biryani, poori, appam, vegetable curry, and other North and South Indian homestyle dishes. The concept is genuinely unusual—you eat, you leave a donation. The food is temple-style vegetarian, which means no garlic, onion, or alcohol in the cooking. Come at lunch when the buffet runs; it's busiest but honest.
Multiple outlets · Vietnamese vegan · -
stockThe Kind Bowl offers fresh veggie meals and vegan food while staying true to the Vietnamese food culture. The banh mi, made with Omni luncheon meat and paired with a spicy, aromatic broth, is a must-try. Signature dishes are priced at an average of $10. The pho works; the banh mi works; nothing reinvents Vietnamese food, which is the point. Go when you want conventional Vietnamese flavours without the animal products.
